Good morning/afternoon/evening/whatever-it-happens-to-be-in-your-area. This is the beginning of what will hopefully become a successful group on Deviant Art, dedicated to celebrating the often under appreciated art medium known as the ballpoint pen, or biro.

I'm still pulling the rules and conditions to this group together, but after reading the way the guidelines for several other groups are set up, basically this is how things will be.

JOINING

Anyone who works with ballpoint pens may join. But there will be a certain level of quality expected from members who wish to submit their work. You don't have to be an Italian master or anything, but please consider whether as the submission page states, the work is a 'polished, refined, and completed work of art'.
To join this group, put it in your watch list and send a note with the heading "Joining the BPC" with a link to your DA page/gallery. When you've been accepted, a note will be returned and your page will be watched.

SUBMITTING WORK

Each member may submit up to 3 drawings per month. To have your artwork submitted, send a note with the title "BPC Submission", a link to said artwork and the comment you would like to be displayed below the drawing.

ANYTHING ELSE RELATING TO SUBMISSIONS

*Most subject matter in submitted artwork is acceptable, but it is preferred that artwork does not contain anything that might be considered offensive to certain races/religions/groups etc. It's pretty much stated in the policy section of the FAQ, but I thought it would be wise to state that anything bordering on these things will not be accepted. I should say though, that it will be looked at on a work by work basis, as it is difficult to define 'offensive' without having a specific image to look at.

*It is fine to want to submit work if it is mixed-media, as long as there is a large percentage (50%+) done with a ballpoint pen.

*Animations created with pen images are very welcome here.

*Microns and felt tips are acceptable mediums to have worked in for this club.

If the member list starts to build up, features such as member lists and other things will be added. Well, I think that's pretty much it for the moment. I'll edit this journal entry as things come up.
